Line activation means virtually no battery drain while waiting for the next phone call. One set of AAA batteries will last approx. 16 hours of actual phone conversation. Record all incoming and outgoing phone conversations or set to record room conversation. It will not do both at one time. Approx 16 hours of phone conversation on 2 AAA batteries.
